About Vice Deanship

The vision of the College of Science aims to achieve the highest standards of academic quality and program effectiveness, derived from the vision of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University. In alignment with this, Vice Deanship is committed to achieving excellence in education by continuously developing academic programs. These programs are designed to bridge the gap between their outcomes and the evolving demands of the labor market.

The College of Science makes efforts to seek excellence and attain an advanced ranking among colleges at other universities. The Vice Deanship of academics supports this by enhancing performance across all areas, particularly academically, and striving to provide suitable environments for delivering outstanding, effective education and high-quality community services. Its primary focus is on the students, fostering their academic development and connecting them with their future career. Therefore, the Vice Deanship has developed academic programs that emphasize activating the role of the student and stimulating their intellectual potential by integrating theoretical and practical aspects. These programs are designed to equip graduates with the ability to link their learning with future experiences, utilizing all available educational resources to acquire knowledge and apply it effectively in the development of their professional specializations.  

The deanship adopts an academic approach that is based on maintaining quality assurance and academic accreditation. It seeks to improve the teaching process by applying modern methods that shift focus from input to output. This approach also strengthens the practical aspects to enrich the students' cognitive and scientific skills. The ddeanship is committed to offering special track academic programs in line with modern developments, aligned with the objectives of Vision 2030, and responsive to the community needs.

 Duties: 

  • Supervising the implementation of regulations and executive rules for the undergraduate studies and examinations regulations.
  • Supervising the development of academic programs and ensuring the quality of learning outcomes.
  • Supervising the units affiliated with Academic Affairs.
  • Supervising the preparation of student schedules in academic departments and coordinating with other colleges in collaboration with the Deanship of Admission and Registration and the Timetable Committee.
  • Supervising the distribution of students to the various college departments in coordination with the departments.
  • Supervising the conduct of final examinations and forming examination committees, in coordination with academic departments and the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
  • Supervising the implementation of admission and transfer regulations to and from the college and between academic departments.
  • Chairing committees under the Agency and submitting their reports to the relevant authorities.
  • Supervising the process of course equivalency.
  • Supervising requests for deferrals and withdrawals from studies, as well as course add/drop processes for undergraduate students in accordance with the applicable regulations and decisions.
  • Supervising the preparation of graduation lists.
  • Supervising the activities of the college's orientation week.
  • Guiding and advising students, addressing academic issues, and coordinating with the University Counseling Center.
  • Coordinating with the college's units in relevant areas.
  • Monitoring the updates of the college’s website regarding the Agency and its affiliated administrative units.
  • Providing regular reports to the Dean of the College on the progress of work in the units under the Agency’s responsibility, including the challenges they face.
