Derived from the vision of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, the College of Science envisions to achieve leadership and excellence in basic and applied sciences. In light of this, the Vice Deanship of Academic Affairs launches towards its goal of achieving excellence in education within academic programs that are constantly evolving in an attempt to bridge the gap between outputs and the demands of the labor market.
The College of Science makes continuous efforts to seek excellence and an advanced ranking among colleges of science at other universities. The Vice Deanship of Academic Affairs plays a supporting role by raising the level of performance in all aspects, especially academically, and by providing a positive environment conducive to effective education and community services. Perhaps the majority of attention though, is placed upon the student, his scientific knowledge and how it ties into his future career. Hence, the vice deanship has worked on developing academic programs characterized by increasing student involvement and combining theory and practice for optimal intellectual stimulation. In effect, this would equip our graduates with the ability to link what they learned into future experiences and to use scientific resources to further their knowledge and to effectively employ new knowledge in career development.
The deanship applies an academic approach that is based on maintaining quality assurance and academic accreditation, improving teaching by applying modern methods that shift focus from inputs to outputs, and enhancing practice to enrich students' cognitive and scientific skills. The deanship also aims at providing special track academic programs in line with modern developments and the vision of 2030, whilst being appropriate for community needs and context.

Duties of the Vice Deanship of Academic Affairs:
- Carrying out the work of the secretariat of the College Council.
- Supervising the units of the Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs.
- Supervising the application of the regulations and executive rules of the regulations of study and tests for the undergraduate level and all matters related to academic affairs.
- Supervising the preparation of study schedules for students in order to achieve their interest and graduation as expected.
- Supervising the distribution of students in the programs of the academic departments in coordination with the departments of the college and the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
- Supervise the progress of evaluation and examination processes and form their committees, in coordination with the academic departments and the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
- Supervising the conduct of the final exams and forming their committees, in coordination with the academic departments and the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
- Supervising the application of admission and transfer controls to and from the college and between academic departments.
- Supervising requests for postponement and apology for study, as well as deletions and additions of students, lists of deprivation and lists of graduates in accordance with the regulations and decisions issued in this regard.
- Supervising the application of the controls of the visit to and from outside the college and the required equivalency of courses and updating the academic record of college students after the visit.
- Supervising the activities of the orientation week for new students to introduce the college and its academic programs.
- Directing and guiding students, solving issues related to academic achievement, and coordinating with the University Advising Center.
- Verify the lists of graduates and those expected to graduate.
- Supervising alternative assessment strategies and tools to assess students' skills (other than tests) and applying the evidence of the Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs in this regard.
- Supervising the development (modernization and development) of academic programs to be in line with national strategies and labor market requirements according to the guides of the University Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs in this regard.
- Ensure the provision of an appropriate learning environment that includes the efficiency of educational facilities, laboratories and laboratories, the availability of study references, learning resources and all that academic programs require to ensure better performance.
- Supervise the learning outcomes measurement plan for academic departments and verify the diversity of methods and tasks of evaluation and measurement.
- Follow up the achievement of the learning outcomes of academic programs and prepare the relevant reports and the necessary improvement plans.
- Follow up the achievement of the strategic plan of the college/university in relation to the objectives of teaching and learning and the achievement of the performance indicators associated with them.
- Supervising the implementation of the "Field Training" course for students in different work environments that are compatible with the nature of the programs and achieve their objectives.
- Supervising the work of the Student Affairs Committee and the Student Summer Activities Committees and coordinating with the Deanship of Student Affairs.
- Preparing reports on the semester teaching load of faculty members and the like and determining the annual need accordingly.
- Supervise the use of technologies, e-learning, educational media and distance learning in teaching and learning within the college.
- Prepare a comprehensive report on the follow-up of academic performance in the college and submit it to the College Council.
- Localization of all quality practices to ensure the best performance associated with academic accreditation standards for teaching and learning.
- Follow up the work and general coordination with the relevant units, departments and agencies of the college.
- Submit periodic reports to the Dean of the College on the progress of work in the units of the Vice Deanship explaining the achievements and difficulties.
- Follow up the update of the college's website with regard to the Vice Deanship and its administrative units.
- Chairing the committees of the Vice Deanship and submitting their reports to the Dean of the College and the College Council.
- Follow up on administrative work, attend meetings and everything related to the Vice Deanship of Academic Affairs and its affiliated units.
- Carrying out the work and other tasks assigned to him by the Dean of the College.
