Innovation Unit

One of the developing goals of Saudi Arabia’s vision is to increase its competition and the rankings of its universities, therefore scientific research is an important factor in achieving this goal.

The Innovation Unit of the Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University seeks to engage in achieving the Kingdom’s 2030 vision by developing and embracing the innovative thinking of the university’s employees on both individual and institutional levels, and training employees to practice creative thinking and participate in providing solutions to problems facing society, which leads to building a society that creates knowledge rather than only consuming it. The unit also seeks to train male and female students according to the needs of the job market, Besides helping talented people to develop their skills and allowing them to participate in different activities.

Vision

Developing the creative and innovative thinking of university employees in a way that enhances heading towards a knowledge economy.

Message

Building an integrated system for developing innovation and creativity, and discovering talents in the university, also building sustainable cooperation between the academic edifice and its outputs and the economic sector in order to achieve the goals of the National Transformation Program plan.

Goals

1- Spreading the culture of innovation and creativity among university employees through lectures and courses.
2- Supporting and adopting innovative projects, and encouraging students to present their ideas and transforming them into innovations of economic value, and supervising on these projects.
3- Creating innovative solutions to environmental and social problems and strengthening the infrastructure and buildings at the university.
4- Collaborating with institutions that support innovation.
5- Supporting partnerships with the private sector in innovative projects with an investment feature in order to achieve a competitive advantage for the national industry.
6- Modeling innovations and inventions and developing designs and products.
7- Discovering talented people and adopting them through developing their skills and cooperating with those interested in talented people inside or outside Saudi Arabia, and guiding them towards innovative projects.
