About The Humanities and Social Sciences Research Center
In light of keeping pace with the strategic plan of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University and the national visions, it has goals and strategic directions towards a successful and pioneering model nation in the world at various levels through three main aspects, which are: a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation. The university has allocated the second goal of its strategic plan to scientific research by paying attention to the scientific research and innovation system and its development. The university has specialized scientific competencies capable of providing its services and research products in a way that serves the visions and achieves its ambitious strategic directions in the aspects of sustainable development in general, and in its humanitarian aspects in particular.
The need to establish this specialized research center in the humanities and its various fields has emerged in light of the rapid scientific, technological, and social developments that the world is witnessing today, and the development support this requires to complement the university’s efforts in establishing research centers to support all its specializations. This contributes to enhancing its effective participation in achieving national visions and strategic directions. The human sciences and their various fields are among the most important branches of sustainable development plans and the achievement of their vision and strategic directions. It specializes in building and investing in people, and makes them the focus of its programs and the tool for achieving its goals, for the human being is the maker of development and the maintainer of its sustainability and development.
The Human Research Center consists of the colleges of humanities and social specializations at the university, which are: the College of Arts, the College of Education, the College of Sharia and Law, and the College of Sciences and Human Studies. Its diverse specializations are concerned with society and its issues and achieving its development ambitions, and through its specialized human cadres and its knowledge and research tools, it contributes effectively to achieving national visions, its strategic directions and its future aspirations, and serving many of its topics and priorities in the humanitarian fields, which highlights the university’s role and contribution to scientific research as an important development field.
