First year
During this first year the students will study a broad range of subjects that will introduce them to various disciplines in the arts and humanities realm. This exposure will help them make an informed decision on what academic path they wish to pursue in the following years. They will earn 36 credit hours during this first year.
Second year
The second year is when the student really begins to focus on their major, Islamic Studies, such as the proper recitation of the Qur’an with tajweed, the science of the Qur’an as well as Hadiths, jurisprudence basics, the methods used by interpreters of the Qur’an, etc.
Third year
During the third year of study the students will cover subjects such as: Qur’an interpretation, Hadiths, studying the chains of transmission of Hadiths, Islamic Law or Sharia and how it relates to family issues, etc.
Fourth year
In the fourth and final year the students will study topics such as: various sects and other world religions, jurisprudence of contemporary issues and penalties, the jurisprudence of governance, rules and theories of jurisprudence, the judiciary system in Islam, various scientific research methods and prepare and present their required graduation projects.
