Vision

The College of Medicine Student Council is committed to championing the voices of IAU students, fostering an environment where they can harness their potential through accountability, effective communication, and exemplary leadership.

Goals and Objectives

The Student Council aims to:

  • Create a link between students and the administrations of the college and university, with the aim of communication, expressing opinions and proposals to serve the educational process.
  • Enhance participation and cooperation between students, faculty, administration, and faculty members.
  • Develop students' skills, and encourage them to actively participate in addressing issues of the local community.
  • Develop students' leadership, communication, and responsibility skills, contributing to building a student community capable of global competition.
  • Discover students' abilities and talents, and guide them appropriately.
  • Participate in organizing individual and group student activities, coordinating them, and maximizing the utilization of the university's available resources.
  • Raise students' awareness and commit them to abide by the regulations and rules applied in the university, good conduct, good performance, academic excellence, and good interaction with faculty members and university staff.
  • Nurture students' loyalty to their country, university, and college.

Programs

  • Monash Visit

The medical college experienced a distinguished event characterized by the reception of a delegation from the prestigious Monash University, marking an exchange of expertise and cultures between the two educational institutions. During this meeting, there was an opportunity to share aspects of the rich Arab culture with the members of the delegation, which greatly impressed them and was highly appreciated.

  • Summer Training

In compliance with Saudi Vision 2030's aim to develop healthcare and nurture the upcoming generation, and in line with the medical college's goal to prepare outstanding physicians, the Medical Student Council organized an optional summer training program at King Fahd University Hospital for male and female medical students from all levels. The program aims to solidify academic knowledge, acquire and practice clinical skills, and provide an overview of the nature of work in various specialties before choosing a specialization.

  • Tabahuth

The Medicine Student Council has launched an innovative summer research program, designed as a strategic initiative to enhance the research skills, knowledge, and critical thinking abilities of its medical students. This immersive program is structured to provide hands-on experience in cutting-edge medical research, offering students the opportunity to work alongside seasoned researchers and faculty members on actual research projects. Participants will engage in a variety of activities, from formulating hypotheses to conducting experiments and analyzing data, all while being encouraged to critically evaluate findings and contribute to scholarly discussions. By immersing themselves in the research process, students will not only develop technical proficiency but also nurture a deep appreciation for the rigor and integrity that underpin scholarly inquiry, positioning themselves at the forefront of medical innovation.

  • Sha’3af

The College of Medicine Student Council has initiated a forward-thinking summer program specifically tailored for high school students, offering a unique glimpse into the life of a medical student. This program is meticulously designed to simulate the medical school experience, allowing participants to step into the shoes of medical students through interactive sessions, practical workshops, and shadowing opportunities. Through this immersive experience, high schoolers will navigate the rigorous academic environment, get acquainted with the demanding schedule, and engage with actual medical scenarios, giving them a realistic taste of the medical profession. It’s an initiative that not only ignites a passion for the field of medicine but also empowers potential future medics with the perspective and inspiration to pursue a healthcare career.
