Academic Advising and Counseling

Academic advising is an interactive process in which the advisor helps the student set and achieve academic goals, acquire relevant information and services, and make responsible decisions consistent with interests, goals, abilities, and degree requirements. Decisions concerning careers and/or graduate study may be part of the advising process. Advising should be personalized to consider the special needs of each student, which may include appropriate referral services.

Academic Advising and Counseling Unit at the college provide services to guide and support students to overcome any academic problems or difficulties that may hinder the student’s academic progress, as well as develop the students' capacities and potentials that enhance their academic performance. The assigned student advisor follows up several students from the moment they enter the college until graduation. This is done by faculty  members who are well informed and familiar with the study plans and the university regulations. This unit is directly linked to the vice dean of student affairs of the college.

Students that are dealing with a range of issues, including personal and emotional problems, difficulty in adjusting to college life, family and relational conflicts, as well as academic concerns such as test anxiety and motivation difficulties can get the help by the full time counselors at the College or referred to the University Counseling Center.
