Under the patronage of the Acting President of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, Prof. Fahad A. Al-Harbi, the Professional Fellowship Program in University Teaching and Learning was officially launched on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. The program includes the participation of 40 faculty members, 40 professional mentors, and 270 fellows from 25 Saudi universities. The program is organized by the Deanship of Academic Development at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University in collaboration with the University of Turku in Finland.

The event featured the virtual attendance of the Vice President of the University of Turku, Prof. Kalle-Antti Suominen, who expressed his appreciation for the distinguished partnership with Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University and emphasized the importance of the shared goal of advancing academic development and empowering the academic community. 

Dr. Mohammed S. Alkathiri, Dean of the Deanship of Academic Development at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, highlighted the diversity of participants from various academic disciplines, expressing his delight with the active professional community and the valuable contributions made by the participants in the program.

Dr. Alkathiri also pointed out that the program is the first and only one of its kind globally, offered in both Arabic and English, accredited by the University Council, and certified by the University of Turku in Finland. He added that the program received the prestigious QS Reimagine Education Award for 2023 in the Middle East, reflecting the university's leadership in this field.
