Course Main Objective
To study the theoretical applied nature the different objective critical approaches such as: the historical, social, psychological and textual approaches, the structuralist, stylistic, semiotic and hermeneutic approaches: their features and most important terms, most prominent figures, mechanisms of application, differences among such approaches in their poetic applications along with methodological applications to the ancient and modern Arabic texts within limits of such approaches and their diversity reflected on applications able to explore such texts and their aesthetics.

- 1.1 Explain theories and approaches of poetic text analysis.

- 2.1 Analyze the poetic text completely according to several approaches (historical, social, psychological, structuralist, semiotic, stylistic, hermeneutic).
- 2.2 Use communication and information technology, e-learning resources and software to trace the contemporary critical approaches to poetic texts.
- 3. Values
- 3.1 Assume individual, collective and leading responsibility in performing the assignments on the poetic text analysis approaches.
- 3.2 Perform the critical assignments observing scientific research ethics and academic integrity achieving traits of responsible citizen.
Course Content
1- An introduction to and about the course and its requirements.
2- Definition of the: (historical, social, psychological, structuralist, semiotic, stylistic, hermeneutic) approaches.
3- How to deal with references to acquire such knowledges necessary to study literary text according to such approaches.
4- Relation between the writer and the text and the text and the recipient.
5- The most important features of the conservatives' poetry.
6- Poetic applications to each of the previous approaches.
7- The most important features of poetry for poets of revival in different artistic attitudes including the literary schools.
