The applicant must satisfy the admissions committee from the Department of Physiology that he or she has demonstrated the appropriate commitment and potential for undertaking this rigorous course of study and the dissertation requirement. The admissions committee will use the student’s past performance in the MS program and receive recommendations from the student’s MS research supervisor and the advisory committee. An interview may also be required. An applicant for the doctoral program must be fully qualified for post-graduate study and research in physiology. An applicant who is deficient in training or in the coursework prerequisite for the PhD in Physiology may be admitted to the graduate program for the purpose of correcting these deficiencies, but the time spent in doing so is not counted towards the residence requirements for the degree. Pass the English test IELTS (6) degree or its equivalent. In exceptional cases, the requirement of a MS thesis may be waived and the student will be allowed to become a candidate for the doctoral program provided that all other requirements for the MS degree of IAU are satisfied.
