Study Duration
The course lasts for two full years. Classes and meetings occur during working 5 days a week during semesters I and II, III, and Semester IV is devoted to clinical placements and research work. Students must complete all of the components of the course to receive a MSc degree.
Content and Structure
This program consists of taught courses that run along with practical /clinical courses work, and research components. All clinical training will take place in the outpatient clinics and in-patient settings, under the supervision of consultant clinical psychologists and psychiatrists. The course component comprises the following module:
First Module - (Semester (I)
Introduction to model of human behaviour & psychotherapy, Developmental & child clinical psychology, Psychological assessment and testing (1), Abnormal psychology & psychopathology, Adult clinical psychology, Cognitive behavioural assessment & treatment (CBT1).
Second Module (Semester II)
Research methods in clinical psychology; psychological assessment and testing 2 (PRACTICAL); forensic psychology; advanced cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-2-PRACTICAL); clinical practicum-1.
Third Module - (Semester III)
Clinical health psychology (adult & pediatrics), clinical neuropsychology, theories/ assessment & intervention in substance abuse, professional issues in psychology (ethical & legal), practicum 2.
Fourth Module - (Semester –IV)
CLINICAL INTERNSHIP: (The Equivalent of a 480 practical hrs, (8 Hrs. Daily Practice) of Supervised Experience in an Approved Clinical Setting), and research project.
