Summary

Dr. Heba Shaaban graduated from Suez Canal University, Egypt with a BSc degree in Pharmacy. She got her PhD in Analytical Chemistry in 2012 from the University of Waterloo, Canada. She was nominated for the gold medal for the best PhD thesis and she received the University of Waterloo Doctoral Thesis Completion Award, Ontario, Canada. After completing her PhD, she joined the academic staff at the college of Clinical Pharmacy, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (IAU) as an assistant professor of pharmaceutical chemistry. She published more than forty research articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. She was awarded the best researcher award at the College of Clinical Pharmacy, IAU for the academic year 2018-2019. She has more than forty-five scientific research papers presented to refereed specialized scientific conferences and has five funded research projects. She won with her research groups many poster presentation award at different national and international conferences.

1.  Project PI for Best Oral Presentation (Social/behavioral sciences – 2nd place) Award to students:  Batool Taleb, Bayan Abass and Weqar Ali. Evaluation of knowledge, perception and risk awareness of lead poisoning in Saudi Arabia: A population-based study. The annual meeting of APS (SIPHA), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 2020.

 

2.  Project PI for Best Poster (3rd place) Award to presenting students: Anhar Alziadi, Nada Alhamad. Environmental contamination by pharmaceutical waste: Assessing patterns of disposing unwanted medications and investigating the factors influencing personal disposing choices 4/2019 – 1st Pharmacy and Toxicology Conference (1st KSAPT), Dammam, KSA.

 

3.  Project COI for Best Oral Presentation (Pharmaceutical Science – 1st place) Award to students: Raneem Alansari, Fatima Alsultan, Ahlam Alrasheedy. Development and validation of liquid chromatography -tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for determination of multiclass pharmaceutical residues in wastewater. 1/2020. The annual meeting of APS (SIPHA), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

 

4.  Project COI for Best Poster (1st place) Award to presenting students: Fatima Alsultan, Ahlam Alrasheedy and Raneem Alansari. Development and validation of liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for determination of multiclass pharmaceutical residues in wastewater, 4/2019 – 1st Pharmacy and Toxicology Conference (1st KSAPT), Dammam, KSA.

6.  Project PI for Best Poster (6th place) Award to presenting students: Njoud AlHamid, Saleha Algarni, Majd Aghamdi, Rand Alabdulmohsin, Anwar Alsaad. Determination of heavy metals in traditional herbs commonly used in Saudi Arabia. 2/2020, Dubai International Pharmaceuticals & Technologies Conference & Exhibition (DUPHAT) Dubai, UAE.

 

7.  Project COI for Best Poster (10th place) Award to presenting students: Bushra Alzahrani, Bushra Aljasser and Raghad Alghamdi.
