First Year
The Foundation Year
Second Year
A common year between the History track and the Archeology & Tourism track where student get acquainted with history of the ancient civilizations till the Rashidun Period as student studies the following courses: Ancient History of the Arabian Peninsula, Ancient History of the Arabian Gulf, History and Civilizations of the Ancient Near East (Egypt- Iraq- Syria- Iran- Anatolia), History and Civilization of Greece and the Romans, History of the Byzantine Empire to end a study of ancient history epoch. Then, a study of the Islamic history epoch begins represented in History of the Prophetic Biography (Sirah), History of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs. During this year of study, student will learn about History, Archeology, Tourism Industry in order to be qualified to enroll in any one of the two tracks (History- Archeology & Tourism).
Third Year
It is the beginning of majoring in History track as student will complete the courses of History with its different ages from the ancient till the modern and the contemporary crossing the Islamic medieval period and the European medieval period. The chronological order has been observed as much as possible where courses of the Ancient History which have been dealt with during the common year of study shall be completed focusing during this year on courses of the Medieval Period (Islamic and European) on a geographical base including the ancient world continents (Asia, Africa, Europe). This will be in parallel with developing the research skills through two courses, namely: Historical Methodology and Historian’s Skills. Student shall select one course from electives in specialization of the Middle Ages with its branches including Woman During the Islamic Age, History of Education in Islamic State and history of Relations Between the East and the West.
Fourth Year:
Most of the modern and contemporary history courses worldwide will be dealt with during this year including our Arab world, the European, American, Asian and African history with its political and cultural aspects focusing on the Saudi history with three courses including modern and contemporary history of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with all its political, economic, and social aspects in order to consolidate the national identity. It is noteworthy that the program pays special attention to the Arabian Gulf region with three courses encompass all the historical ages: ancient, Islamic and modern being the incubating environment of the university. Furthermore, the fourth year of study includes a package of electives in modern and contemporary history deal with issues of international relations, the Arab-Zionist conflict and the Muslim minorities in order to consolidate the Arab, Islamic and international awareness. The program is characterized by offering a set of the courses which keep up with world development such as Visual History, Environmental History, Field History, the economic and social history over different historical periods and finally student crowns his study with preparing a research graduation project extends to two stages during the said year.

Third Year
It represents the beginning of specialization in Archeology and Tourism as student begins studying Archology through getting acquainted with the pre-history antiquities in KSA and its rock arts, the ancient architecture and monuments in the Arabian Peninsula. Moreover, student will study the modern methods and techniques of recording and documenting heritage and antiquities, the archeological excavation and survey and a study of pottery science as an essential element in the archeological sites. Io order to link history and civilization of the region, student will study Antiquities and Arts of the Ancient East Civilizations and origin and evolution of writing within them. She further studies some of tourism courses to be acquainted with the tourist types, tourist terms in English, management of festivals and events, entrepreneurship, traditional crafts and industries in the kingdom and in order to complete her knowledge of the Islamic history, she will study History of the Arabian Peninsula and the Arabian Gulf During the Islamic Age.
Fourth Year
It is the year where student completes her study of the ancient and Islamic archeology sciences such as: ancient and Islamic Numismatics, Ancient and Islamic Scripts, Islamic Architecture and Arts. Student further studies Museology, Principles of Archeology Restoration and she ends her archeological study with Field Training in one of the historical sites. Student will complete her study in field of tourism with such courses as: Travel Agencies Business, Tourist Destinations Marketing, Tour Guidance, Management of Natural and Cultural Heritage Resources and finally she completes her study with Field Training in different travel agencies and tourist destinations.
