Umar Lawal Dano is an Associate Professor at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from UTP, Malaysia, and a Master's in Planning-Information Technology from UTM, Malaysia. He is a member of the Global Science and Technology Forum (GSTF), Singapore, Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institution (SSSI), Australia, and the Asia-Pacific Chemical, Biological & Environmental Engineering Society (APCBEES), Hong Kong. He has published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals, book, book chapters, and conference proceedings. His research interest includes applications of GIS, remote sensing, and multi-criteria decision analysis (Analytic Hierarchy Process and Analytic Network Process Models) tools in flood hazards forecasting, climate change, urban planning, and land suitability modeling.
