TabsSummaryOmar was educated and trained as an architect in Damascus University and practiced Architecture for three years. He received his Master with distinction in 2006, and the PhD degree in Landscape Architecture from Edinburgh University, UK, in 2017. His research has focused on environmental behavior study, Soundscape and Contemporary Memorial Design. Omar has lectured and taught in architecture design in Damascus University and tutored in landscape design studio in Edinburgh University. In UK, prior to joining GROSS.MAX. Landscape Architects in 2015, Omar worked in Open Space Research Centre for four years, focusing on inclusive access to outdoor spaces. After he joined GROSS.MAX. Omar was the project landscape architect of various big scale projects such as Moscow Courtyard, and Heerlen Mining Park Netherland. Other projects include Stone Street development in Cairo, Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque with AL-A Architects and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Competition in Riyadh in collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects. Currently, Omar is an assistant professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture at Imam Bin Abdulrahman University, teaching Landscape Design and Graphics, and lecturing in Special Topics and Principles and Process of Landscape Design.
