Course Description
This course provides an elementary introduction to probability and statistics with applications. Topics include: Introduction to probability; Conditional probability and statistical independence; Bayes theorem; Mathematicalexpectation; Variance; Regression analysis; Inference of Regression; Multiple Regression; Some important discrete and continuous statistical distributions; hypothesis testing; confidence intervals. Statistical software (Minitab and SPSS) will be used to facilitate the analysis of data sets and understand statistical concepts. Emphasis will be placed on how to collect, analyze, and interpret data correctly. Students will also be trained on how to clearly and accurately present data to others.
