Course Description
After mastering the General English course, the intensive English program will shift the focus to EAP (English for Academic Purposes) in the second semester. The students will also be introduced to ESP (English for Specific Purpose) where students will get exposure to the English language discourse of Architecture and Planning and discipline specific terminology used in Architecture and Planning. Before the end of the second semester, students will have had extensive training and preparation on the strategies and study skills required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The intensive English course will be conducted and delivered in close cooperation and in continual consultation with the academic staff and lecturers of the College of Architecture and Planning and the English language Academic staff in order to achieve the optimum levels of performance and proficiency in the English language, which will then empower the students to pursue their undergraduate and graduate studies.
