Course Description
The Site Remedy course will cover the following relevant topics: soil pollution, levels of pollution and remediation methods, water sources effected by polluted soils, characterization of soil and water systems, local pollution and regional pollution, source apportionment of pollutants and their characterizations, metals and toxic chemicals in soil, effects of erosion on soil and water quality as well as pollution control regulations according to laws and directives. Risk based analysis. This class will also present materials on hazardous waste compositions and speciation, remediation of polluted soil, applications of stabilization/solidification, lime, ash, cement and asphalt stabilizations as well as the transport for different pollutants into the groundwater and the atmosphere.
