Content:
Introductory to environmental chemistry, fate and behavior of chemicals in environment, definition of ecosystem, major pollutants, water distribution in earth planet and water cycle, chemical natural composition of water, purification of water, environmental monitoring and renewable.
Course Objectives & Outcomes
Objectives:
- To recognize the different concepts and methods to express concentrations.
- To know the different volumetric titrations and their applications.
- To recognizes the gravimetric analysis methods and theoretical foundations for precipitation and their industrial, medical and chemical applications.
- To recognizes the renewable energy uses such as solar energy, wind power, waves... etc.
Outcomes:
At the end of this course, the students will be able to:
- Identify the components of the atmosphere and ecosystem.
- Differentiates the types and effects of chemical pollutants on the components of the ecosystem.
- Use various chemical analysis methods to evaluate their environmental impact.
- Apply modern methods such as renewable energy.
