On Sunday, September 18, 2016 the University of Dammam welcomed its students in the Annual Orientation Program which is represented by the Deanship of Preparatory Year and Supporting Studies. The program was held in the main hall in the University City and was attended by the Dean of the Preparatory Year and Supporting Studies Dr. Abdulaziz Al Fehaid, Vice Deans and faculty members.
Dr. Abdulaziz Al Fehaid, Dean of the Preparatory Year and Supporting Studies mentioned that “the Orientation Program helps students in gaining education, knowledge and basic skills that will assist them in engaging in the educational process by choosing the specialties that will suit them in the University and the labor market will benefit from. This is where the Vision of the Deanship of Preparatory Year and Supporting Studies has emerged in order to help students gain the skills that will aid them to keep up with the educational developments of the age by using the latest methods and educational techniques.
Also, the Deanship of Preparatory Year and Supporting Studies has prepared highly sophisticated study plans which are on the level of the quality and academic accreditation standards so that the students will become proficient in the English Language and basic computer skills as well as the basic sciences that help in refining their educational skills.
The program this year was very intense where important issues that concern the University were presented to students such as its terms and regulations as well as the different ways to get in touch with faculty members. Also, students were introduced to the Vision, Mission and the Goals of the University to prepare them for successful university education. The program started off with registration and welcoming the students. After that, a visual presentation was presented and a speech from the Dean of the Preparatory Year and Supporting Studies, the Code of Conduct was displayed, e-learning in the deanship was presented and the services provided by the Educational Support and Quality Center in the Deanship. And on Monday, September 19, 2016 the program consisted of meetings with the deans of colleges in the University, the Dean of Student Affairs, Vice Dean of Student Activities and Service Affairs and the Director of Safety and Security.
The program ended on Monday, September 19, 2016.
