Under the patronage of the President of the University Dr. Abdullah Al Rubaish, the Dean of the College of Architecture and Planning Dr. Abdulsalam Al Sudairi opened on Sunday, February 14, 2016 the second Interior Architecture student projects and products exhibition. The exhibition was attended by the vice deans and heads of the College.
Dr. Al Sudairi stated that “this semester’s exhibition includes students’ work which is distinguished by its association with the local market through presenting projects inspired by the heritage of the Kingdom in general and the Eastern Province in particular in order to qualify students in encountering universal design and innovation challenges. The exhibition was supervised by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Helal Hapallas, the head of Interior Architecture Department, Dr. Amro Abed, Dr. Imad Hamad, Eng. Ahmed Abdullatif and Dr. Adel Bouregh.
Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Helal Hapallas, the head of Interior Architecture Department mentioned that “this exhibition was held due to the importance of enriching the educational process and to elevate the outcomes of the department. Dr. Amro Abed the general coordinator of the exhibition pointed out that “this year’s exhibition included more than 70 student educational experiment projects, it consisted of different designs, photography, product designing, paintings and freehand drawings, Islamic motif designs, product recycling, and the Maternity and Children Hospital in Al Qatif designing competition which was supervised by Dr. Imad Hamad. This was part of the department’s role towards community responsibility. As well as that, the students provided explanations of their works, the stages and developments of different designs and how they are connected with the environment and the labor market.
