The BMG Financial Group’s Charity Foundation is sponsoring a competition to encourage UoD students to serve their community. BMG has created two timely initiatives where students can participate: Saving Water and Driving Safety. BMG’s Charity Foundation has a history of serving the community and they would like to encourage and instill this sense of community service in the youth. The winner of this competition will receive a car and a trip to London, while the second and third place winners will receive mobile phones.
A preliminary meeting was held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in the Main Conference Hall and was attended by a number of female and male students. They were given an introduction to the types of charity work BMG is known for and they learned about the importance of contributing to the community and building a community spirit amongst the students at UoD. The rules and logistics of the competition were also presented, along with the campaigns’ slogans: Water is Live and Driving Safely Towards a Safe Life. The attendees then watched a short video detailing the various options for the competition, such as: raising awareness, designing printed material or developing an innovative invention that supports either one the campaigns.
This competition is open to UoD faculty, staff members and students.
