A cooperation agreement between the University of Dammam and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) was recently signed. The President of the University of Dammam, Dr. Abdullah M. Al Rubaish and the EVP for Administration and Finance at KAUST, Eng. Nadhmi Al-Nasr signed this groundbreaking agreement in the main hall of the Central Library. Professor Abdulsalam A. Al-Sulaiman, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research and Dr. Adel Al Afaliq, Vice President for University Branches attended the ceremony along with a number of deans from the various colleges at UOD.
Prof. Al-Sulaiman stated, “This agreement is an overall agreement by the University of Dammam and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology that addresses the annual acceptance of female students, as either teaching assistants or lecturers, who are enrolled in master and doctoral programs in the following 12 specialties: Bioscience, Environmental Science and Engineering, Marine Science, Plant Sciences, Applied Mathematics and Computational Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Chemical Sciences, Earth Science and Engineering, Material Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Prof. Al-Sulaiman also noted, “This agreement demonstrates the University of Dammam’s commitment to continually striving for the highest levels in research and academics in order to elevate the educational process in the Kingdom through research, studies and by developing the skills of teaching assistants and lecturers at the University of Dammam. This agreement is the embodiment of this commitment. In addition, numerous joint programs for fellowships and postdoctoral programs in various specialties have also been included in order to increase the capabilities of the Research and Medical Consultation Center at the University of Dammam and to cooperate in establishing and developing a creative and leading business environment at the University.”
