On Tuesday, September 8, 2015 CE/Thul al Qi’dah 24, 1436 AH a ceremony was held at the College of Arts’ campus in Al Rayyan to officially launch the newly revised Vision, Mission and Objectives for the College of Arts and their academic departments, which were recently approved by the University Council.

The Dean of College of Arts, Dr. Amirah Ahmed Al-Jafary, in her opening remarks at the celebration stated that, “These newly revised Vision, Mission and Objectives for the College of Arts were the results of thoughtful, measured consideration and contemplation involving not only department chairs, administration and faculty but alumni, current students and supporters from the community.  Previous vision, mission and objective statements were examined and their effectiveness in achieving the College’s stated academic goals were assessed.”

Dr. Al-Jafary continued by noting that the new Vision for the College of Arts was inspired by UoD’s revised Vision that arose with the recent institutional accreditation endeavors, which were successful with UoD being awarded unconditional accreditation for seven years.  This update of the College’s Vision, Mission and Objectives also fulfills one of the initiatives in the College of Arts’ Strategic Plan, paving the way for the accreditation of the Colleges’ various programs over the next five years.

Dean Al-Jafary extended her appreciation to everyone who contributed to this milestone for the College, including:  the staff of the Dean’s Office, the Vice President for Studies, Development and Community Service, the Public Relations Office and the Technical Support Office for their tireless efforts.

A visual presentation was included in this event, depicting the College of Arts’ and its academic Departments’ new Vision, Mission and Objectives.  The College’s vice deans, department chairs, faculty and academic and administrative staff were in attendance to celebrate this achievement.
