25th Meeting of the Committee of Deans of Directorates, Colleges and Community Service Centers at Universities and Higher Education Institutions in the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council
Sponsored and attended by the President of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammad Al Rubaish, the University, represented by the Community Service and Sustainable Development Deanship, hosted on Tuesday, 13 Shawwal 1442, 25 May 2021, the 25th meeting of the Committee of Deans of Directorates, Colleges and Community Service Centers at Universities and higher education institutions in the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The meeting was through visual communication technology in accordance with the preventive protocol adopted during the current exceptional circumstances. Chaired by the Secretary of the Committee, Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohamed Al-Muttaoua, the meeting was intended to discuss the strategies and future plans of the Committee and to adopt a number of qualitative initiatives aimed at intensifying the efforts of universities in the area of community service and enhancing their output under the umbrella of community responsibility and volunteerism.
His Excellency the President of the University has appraised the unlimited support provided by the supporting committees of the universities, primarily Committee of Deans of Directorates, Colleges and Community Service Centers at Universities and higher education institutions in (GCC) since its launch in 1993, confirming the required integration of community service agencies, and opportunities to share experiences and develop perspectives and ideas under the umbrella of joint action in education and the service of Gulf society.
The Dean of the Community Service and Sustainable Development, Prof. Fatma bint Abdullah Al-Mulhim, welcomed the members of the Commission and stressed the central and important role of the Committee at the level of universities and higher education institutions of GCC countries in promoting cooperation, complementarity, and interdependence among the countries to expand joint action in higher education and community service and to use its potential to meet the aspirations of Gulf society and contribute to its growth and advancement.
