Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University in cooperation with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization held a workshop titled "Lab Accreditation; Its Importance, Benefits and How to Achieve It". The workshop was presented by Mr. Ramzi Al Shehri the Saudi Accreditation Committee Secretary-General. The workshop was a start off to activate the partnership signed between the Organization and the University represented by the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation that aimed at reinforcing cooperation in the fields of calibration and preparing labs for Accreditation.

Mr. Ramzi Al Shehri displayed during his lecture a few lab Accreditation related issues that were prepared according to the ISO 17025. He pointed out the role of Accreditation in supporting the economy and developing the nation in the light of the Kingdom's 2030 Vision.

The outcomes of the workshop were represented in several recommendations such as strengthening the scientific and the technical references in the University's laboratories through benefiting from the activities of standardization and quality in the Metrology Organization and that will be met by creating an executive plan that includes measurement and performance indicators as well as, observing the reginal and international ISO 17025 Laboratory Accreditation practices. In addition to continuing exchanging Standards, Metrology and Quality knowledge.

Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal represented by the Vice Presidency for Studies, Development and Community Service and the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization have signed a Cooperation Agreement a few months back to exchange and localize knowledge, technology, researches, studies and useful consultations to develop the fields of standardization and the Qualification of technical competencies.
Finally, IAU confirmed that they are determined to benefit from the cooperation program with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization.
