On Wednesday 21 June 2023, the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC), represented by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation "Etimad", signed accreditation agreements for (52) academic programs of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, at the university's headquarters in Dammam.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency the University President, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rubaish and by the Executive Director of the NCAAA, Dr. Muhammad bin Saleh Bashmakh. The agreements included the signing of (22) bachelor’s programs and (30) master's programs.
These agreements come within the Framework Agreement that was concluded between the University and the Commission on December 28, 2021, to accredit (50) of the university's academic programs, and now two additional programs are appended to the agreement.
His Excellency the President stated that the university seeks to: develop its scientific programs, introduce new programs, provide an academic environment for the advancement of various fields of knowledge and finally to attain excellence in applying the quality standards to achieve national and international accreditations. The university is looking forward to further achievements to chart its path towards leadership in obtaining the country's goals and its developmental vision through strategic plans to build a knowledge economy based on the foundations of research, innovation, and learning.
On their part, the Commission confirmed that obtaining academic accreditation from “Etimad” center requires from the educational institution or the academic program to prepare accurate and comprehensive self-study reports for their scientific, administrative, and other aspects to determine their quality levels, according to the accreditation standards of the center. They also emphasized that the educational institution or academic program should be subject to an external evaluation by an independent evaluation team to validate the results of the self-evaluation study, and to judge their quality of performance according to the center's standards.
