The surgeon, Dr. Hanan Al Ghamdi a Consultant in Advanced Endoscopes, Gastrointestinal tract, Liver, and Pancreas tumors, Organ transplant and Obesity surgery in King Fahad University Hospital in Al Khobar succeeded in removing Pancreatic tumors from two patients using a 3D Endoscope.

Dr. Al Ghamdi mentioned that this complex surgery occurred for the first time in the Middle East. The size of the tumor in one of the patients was very large where it was 16*15 centimeters. The surgery was done completely by an Endoscope and small incisions, afterwards the patients stayed at the hospital for a week without the need to be admitted in the ICU.

Also, Dr. Al Ghamdi pointed out that the 3D Endoscope technique is one of the latest techniques in the world and is used in different surgeries but it was used for the first time in a Pancreas surgery which is considered one of the most complex surgeries. A number of consultants, specialists, and technicians accompanied Dr. Al Ghamdi in performing the operation where she used the CT scan and incisions in the abdomen for removing a tumor and a Spleen.
