The University of Dammam, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has launched a blood drive in order to aid the casualties of the recent terrorist attack and to support the hospitals that have received the injured.

UoD quickly got involved in the relief effort by sending out requests for blood donations by utilizing their extensive SMS system.  The overwhelming response from donors reflected the unity of the people and demonstrated that attacks such as this cannot divide the community.

UoD’s students, faculty and staff donated blood at the University’s blood bank, where it was then transferred to hospitals throughout the Eastern Province.  King Fahd University Hospital in Al Khobar immediately responded to this tragedy, by putting all doctors and other staff on alert in anticipation of the number of patients that would be transferred to the hospital and who are now currently under their care.
