The Family and Community Medicine Department in the University of Dammam is organizing a scientific seminar titled World Day for Safety and Health which is coinciding with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work and its slogan “Work Stress; a Communal Challenge”.
The program will include two main scientific sessions presented by UoD doctors from the Family and Community Medicine Department, Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electricity Company, Occupational Health Department in the Ministry of Health in Al Riyadh, and the Medical Committee form the Dammam Medical Complex. Attendees will be granted a 7 credited hour certificate from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Prof. Sameeh M. Al-Almaie, head of the Family and Community Medicine Department mentioned that “this seminar discusses work pressure, its causes, and various ways to prevent, to control and to treat it. Also, its side effects, its health, financial and psychological effects, finally, how the phenomena of work pressure expanded. And another aspect will be discussed which is Zika virus; how did it spread, how to prevent it from spreading and ways to fight the infection in the working environment. The seminar’s targeted group is doctors and nurses working in health sectors.
