Course Description
The Wastewater Engineering II course will focus on treatment plant designs including: primary (grit removal, screening, sedimentation), secondary (Activated sludge, trickling filter, stabilization ponds, oxidation ditches, biological contactors), tertiary stages of treatment (filtration, nitrification and de-nitrification, phosphorous removal, ion exchange resins, disinfection). Sludge handling (digestion, stabilization and dewatering), final disposal, wastewater reclamation and reuse, land treatment systems and onsite systems, effluent concerns, standards and regulations and wastewater laboratory work will be a part of this course.
