Course Description
This course introduces a number of concepts related to the Islamic social and political systems. The topics that fall under Islamic social systems will include: the person in Islam (succession and responsibility), the position of the family, the family structure, marital relations and the rights of women. A number of political concepts will be discussed in this class, such as the Islamic political system, the concepts of justice and equality, the topic of human rights in an Islamic state, the rights of non-Muslims, how Islam is implemented in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and enjoining good deeds (al-Ma’ruf) and forbidding bad deeds (al-Munkar). In addition to assignments given in this course the students are required to memorize the 27th part or juz of the Holy Qur’an.
