Course Description
This course covers principles of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell genetics. Emphasis is placed on the molecular basis of heredity, chromosomes structure and function at the level of molecules, cells, and multicellular patterns. Also, Mendelian and non Mendelian inheritance. Upon completion student should be able to recognize and describe the genetic phenomena and demonstrate knowledge of important genetic principles.

Objectives

- Develop an understanding to the principles of fundamental genetics.
- Involve with the genetic material movement through the cell cycle and cell divisions.
- Understand modes of inheritance that govern passage of genetic traits across generations.
- Know the relationships among species and their genetic variations.
- Develop an understanding to the genetic and chromosomal abnormalities.
