Course Description
Introduction to natural products; systematic approach in herbal drug prescribing; important natural products and phytomedicines used as drugs acting on CVS system, CNS, reproductive and urinary tracts, musculoskeletal system and other miscellaneous drugs; plant nutraceuticals; herbal drug development process; industrial production of few important drugs used in medicine; a brief discussion of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), e.g. aromatherapy, homeopathy, naturopathy, hydrotherapy, massage, chiropractic, osteopathy, magnetotherapy.
