Objective
The main objective of course is “Introduction to Translation” introduces the main approaches to the theory and practice in translation. It briefly treats the rising field of Translation Studies. It covers many approaches to translation theory such as linguistic-based theories of translation, culturally-oriented theories etc... The course addresses methodological issues and techniques in translation as well as their application to translation between Arabic and English. It also covers different issues in translation at different levels of language such as phonic, morphological, semantic and so on.
