Course Main Objective
This course aims to realize the ever-changing needs of users to information and ensuring to meet such needs. It further deals with the concepts of information services and methods of searching for them and ways to render them effectively and learning about the importance of technology and marketing in information services.

- 1.1 Explain the essence and importance of information services within information field of work and basics and components of providing the services.
- 2. Skills
- 2.1 Differentiate among information services and their types and methods of providing information within the information institutions.
- 2.2 Search in field of information services through using information and communications technology.
- 3. Values
- 3.1 Bear individual and collective responsibility and communicate effectively within teamwork.
Course Content:
- Information services and making them available under modern technology.
- Services to provide the users with information and making easy to access thereto.
- Services to inform the users and make them acquainted with such materials that they may be interested in and other services for guiding the users.
- The internet-based information services (making available the library services via the internet and benefits of using the web and information services on the internet).
- Services of raising informational awareness and its skills (the concept and skills of informational awareness within the higher education institutions and its programs and the role of libraries and information specialist in raising it).
- Category of persons with disabilities: concepts and terms- characteristics and classification of persons with disabilities category.
- Information services for persons with disabilities.
- Marketing information services within the electronic environment (definition of marketing and its elements, activities and impact of product life cycle on counseling services and marketing services of counseling and factors affecting the marketing activity).
- Evaluation of information services within the electronic environment.
