Course Description
Introduction to first aid and emergency medicine for all ages and systems of the body, aims and priorities of first aid and emergency medicine; management of the injured patient and shock; management of bleeding, intravenous (i.v.) therapy in emergency situations (blood transfusion, use of fluids and plasma expanders, inotropics); maintenance of airway passages and intravenous lines; cardiovascular resuscitation, basic life support, open wounds, fractures, epilepsy, coma, sunstroke, animal bites, high-grade fever, burns, poisoning, drowning, head injuries and emergency procedures at home, work, or leisure.
