Course Description
In this course the students learn electric circuits techniques for the analysis and simulation of linear electric circuits, and measurements of their properties. The course builds upon the student’s background gained in physics and calculus courses and prepares students for learning Electronic devices and circuits, Signals and Systems. The topics include: Models of circuit elements; circuit analysis using Ohm’s and Kirchoff’s laws; nodal and mesh analysis; Thevenin and Norton equivalent circuits, solution of first and second order circuits; phasor-based solutions to AC circuits; elementary frequency response. MATLAB is used throughout the course. Includes lab.
