Objective
To introduce students to the historical/cultural origins of English Literature in the sixteenth and seventeenth century. Topics will include intellectual, political, and literary movements. A selection of poems and plays by writers such as Shakespeare, Marlow, Webster, Spencer, Milton, Herbert, Pope, Dryden, Ben Johnson.
