Course Description
This design course gives the students their first experience of what it will be like to work as an interior architecture designer in the real world. The studio will function like a professional design firm, with a long list of real projects, which can be implemented. Students must be able to submit a full design package starting from the idea phase all the way to the detailed construction documents, even including a bill of quantities for at least one project during this course. In this mock design office, an environment of teamwork will be encouraged throughout the course. Many different projects will be introduced to the students (anywhere from 3 to 5 in total) with various submission requirements based on the client’s requests. Meeting clients and visiting project sites are some of the activities, which will be required from the students. The student will be also asked to design in accordance with sustainability concepts and technologies. The course will provide an opportunity for the student to do some volunteer work by providing designs for local NGOs as well as any other agencies that are serving society.
