Course Description
This is a comprehensive computer application course that focuses on advanced skills in Computer Aided Design (CAD), especially those utilized by interior designers. The students will have an opportunity to use a variety of 3D programs that are essential interior architecture tools for design studios. The class assignments will focus on typical interior designs and architectural applications. The course will cover how to build 3D models, how to develop 3D drawings by using 3D modification commands, how to integrate 3D drawings with other projects and at the same time, make them easy to read. Components of three dimensional drawing and computer rendering will be explored using industry standard software packages. The course introduces students to a number of modeling techniques and offers the skills necessary in creating quality 3D images and construction documents. At the same time, students will be encouraged to develop their own techniques.
