Overview
General Otolaryngology unit consists of consultants and specialists whom are experienced in diagnosing and treating different ear, nose, and throat diseases, as well as performing many uncomplicated surgeries.
Patient Care
The division is well experienced in the following:
- Management of allergic rhinitis.
- Diagnoses of ear diseases.
- Hearing impairment in children and adults.
- Performing many ear surgeries for instance: myringotomies, insertion of ventilation tubes, tympanoplasty type 1, ear exploration for cholesteatoma.
- Adenotonsillectomies.
- Performing nasal surgeries, such as septoplasty and functional endoscopic sinus surgery.
- Diagnoses and management of skull base osteomyelitis with involvement of the infectious disease unit.
Accomplishments
This division was an integral part of most educational campaigns for the population. These include Universal Hearing Loss day and an diseases of elderly population that was conducted in the hospital. Also, it held many workshops, one of which was tracheostomy tube care workshop.
