UoD's Admissions and Registration Office Participates in the 34th Annual Arab-ACRAO Conference for Arab Countries in the UAE.
A delegation from UoD's Office of the Dean of Admissions and Registration participated in the 34th Annual Arab-ACRAO Conference held in the UAE at the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain from March 31st to April 2nd, 2015. The delegation consisted of the Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdullah Bamoussa, the Vice-Deans, the Director of the Dean's office, and the department heads.
The Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdullah Bamoussa mentioned that, “The goal of this conference is to develop and enhance the role of the Admissions and Registration offices that will ultimately influence the quality of teaching at various Arab universities. The conference gave the participants the opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss the challenges that admissions and registration offices face as well as look at innovative ways to address these issues.”
The conference attendees presented and discussed solutions and alternatives for working on the development and streamlining of the admissions process, which will have a positive impact on the educational process as a whole. Therefore, the success of the Office of Admissions and Registration is directly tied to the success of the overall educational process. Dr. Bamoussa mentioned that, “One of the challenges facing Arab educational institutions is to continue to develop and improve the various fields that make up the educational discipline so that the quality of higher education is in line with international standards, which will allow our students to be on equal footing with their global counterparts.”
The conference attendees came from numerous nations, including: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Palestine and Libya.
