Course Description
I. Summary of physical and chemical properties in solutions: Different types of mixtures. Solutions, concentrations. Physical and chemical properties. Binary and ternary liquid solutions.
II. Liquid solutions: Pure liquids, physicochemical of liquid systems and organic solvents. Binary electrolyte and non electrolyte solutions. Physical and chemical properties of binary liquid solutions. Excess properties, Redlich-Kister equation, activity coefficients. Different models used for each physical and chemical in binary liquid mixture. Effect of temperature and pressure on the physical and chemical propertiesof solutions. Some thermodynamic properties derived from the physicochemical properties against temperature and compositions, and, comparison with those obtained by classical thermal techniques.
III. Gaseous state: Ideal and real gas laws. Molecular interactions. Partial pressure and activity coefficients. Different physicochemical properties of vapor state. Effect of pressure and temperature on these properties.
IV. Solid solutions: Importance in industries and applied chemistry. Applications in metallurgical chemistry. Phase diagrams of some binary and ternary liquid systems
