Course Description

This course introduce students to the core knowledge of different essential monitoring techniques. It will prepare him to provide advanced critical care during pre-hospital face including performing advanced clinical patient assessments and providing invasive care beyond the standard scope of pre-hospital care. This will includes modes of transport (Air vs. Ground) and transfer considerations of critically ill patients. Also focuses on airway and ventilation management including surgical airways and ventilators, CPAP and BiPAP, chest tubing, central venous lines, expanded pharmacologic formulary, interpretation of laboratory data, 12-lead ECG interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring. It will also focuses on aviation medicine, principles of air transport, expected physiological changes and ways to handle them.
